The stories that unfold in conservation can rarely be told solely by documenting the animals affected. Often, it is important to capture the cultural identities that influence the wild spaces around them. Elements such as socioeconomic class, societal pressures, and environmental influences all affect this story. But also, physically apparent elements such as the wrinkles on a face, the clothes one wears, or the tools one uses; what does this symbolize?  What keeps Michael up at night are images like these.
